Year 5’s run up to half term

A few highlights from the weeks leading up to half term.

Marvelous Maths took over DBJA for a week. As a year group we engaged with maths from a very different angle. We looked at maths outside the classroom, created our own maths games and puzzles, played around with different tessellations and created stories. By the end of the week we came to the conclusion that MATHS IS FUN!

In P.E we finished off the half term with some impressive dance sequences and an interhouse hockey tournament.

We all attended a very stimulating anti-bullying workshop and have engaged with the theme of bullying during our PSHE lessons.

And finally, in English we have been learning and performing ‘The Pig Poem’. A humorous Roald Dahl classic which caused great amounts of amusement.

Enjoy the photos below and a very happy half term to you all!

Weald Park Trip

Year 3 went to Weald Country Park in search of different rocks, soils and creepy crawlies! The amazing workers at the park helped us to understand how mushrooms grow, how different rocks are formed and how to be worm charmers!!

The children had a fantastic day out in the open air and it really put what we have been doing in Science this term into perspective!!

Enjoy the pictures and see if you can spot yourself!
