In Year 4, we have been studying poetry with a focus on the poetic features in The Cops and The Robbers by Allan and Janet Ahlberg.
Black Oak have been experimenting with different ways to memorise and recite poetry. This includes, text mapping, actions, voices, movement and sound effects.
All of Year 4 presented their work today. See Black Oak’s performances below!
Well done to all of Year 4, who have improved their performances and projection since we recited poems in December.
In History this term, Year 4 have been studying different crimes and punishments from around the world.
Black Oak have looked at two case studies, the Great Train Robbery which took place in the United Kingdom in 1963, and the Dunbar Robbery which took place in the United States of America in 1997.
For each robbery, the class imagined they were news reporters and created reports and broadcasts about the events.
Below is a selection of news created and produced in the Black Oak newsroom.
